Another Successful Year for ‘Stories Through Song’

August 7, 2015 kathy

FOLK New England's 'Stories Through Song
FNE’s Karen Kosko and Marylou Ferrante featured in the Haggerty School’s end-of-year bulletin “Room 213 News”.

FOLK New England’s ‘Stories Through Song’ is supported by a grant from the ASCAP Foundation.

During the course of the past 5 years, FNE has incorporated the work of local musicians/songwriter into the curriculum goals of elementary and middle school classrooms with a special emphasis on history, literature, biography and social justice.

Our roster of local musicians/songwriters “tell the back stories of the songs”, discussing the historical era or the reason the songs were written. Songwriters also include material they have written or cover. The program currently serves three schools in Cambridge, MA.
