Folk Bridges - A series of Salons and conversations

A series of Salons and conversations

First Wednesday of the month 7:00pm
In the intimate Hi N Dry Studios @ The NEFMA Gallery
Admission is by donation to support NEFMA

The Folk Bridges Salon Series explores how folk music came to be the thriving grassroots community it is today. Local stars, music professionals, cultural activists, and media people gather in an informal conversational forum for a brisk exchange of ideas, stories, and lore on topics that help tell the colorful story of folk music in New England, from contra dance to Celtic fiddling, urban songwriters to shantey singers, ‘60s coffeehouses to modern festivals, blues to bluegrass, protest songs to urban ballads.

Our Mission

The mission of Folk New England is to foster appreciation and preservation of the indigenous folk music of the New England area through collection, preservation, and dissemination of both primary and secondary sources.  We work with individuals, families, musicians, scholars, students, and ordinary folk to increase and perpetuate the collection and understanding of the diverse common musical heritage of the region.
